Imam and 4 others beaten up by a Hindtuva extremist over Azaan from the Mosque


An incident of assault and threat was reported from the Mundiari village of Basti district where a local guy of an upper-caste Hindu community objected to Azaan from the mic. After a little while he came with few people and beaten up Imam for reciting Azaan from the mic. When some locals came to save the Imam, he attacked and injured them too. After beating them up, the accused threatened that he will bomb the Mosque if they dare to recite Azaan. The accused was identified as Madhuban alias Pintu. He was arrested under relevant sections of the CrPC.
