Two Muslim minor girls harassed and assaulted by Hindutva extremists

On November 18, 2021 two Muslim minor girls were harassed and assaulted by the Hindutva goons at photocopy shop in Shanivarsanthe in Somwarpet. They accused the girls of handing over their Burqa to their friend, a Christian girl, for helping her meeting boyfriend. According to the girls, their friend had asked Burqa to go out for taking notes from her friend. They refuted all the allegations made by the extremist elements, which were shouting on them. Later, on the complaint of girl’s father Police arrested two persons, Prajwal and Kaushik and sent them to jail on the charges of harassing minor girls. However, Riyaz Pasha, father of the girl, said that the main accused Madan, was not arrested and still roaming free. The accused got bail after fifteen days from the district court. They were felicitated with saffron shawls by a local BJP leader SN Raghu according to whom the boys have done a service to nation as well as Hindu religion.
