Barbaric Assault on Muslims in Aligarh Over False Possession of Beef

New Delhi, 25 May: Maulana Mahmood Madani, President of Jamiat Ulama-i-Hind, has strongly condemned the recent mob attack on four Muslim meat traders in Aligarh, describing the incident as inhumane, deeply distressing, and a disgrace to the nation's conscience. He stated that targeting Muslim youth on mere suspicion of carrying beef represents a serious threat to communal harmony, public safety, and the rule of law.
Maulana Madani expressed grave concern over the recurrence of such incidents, despite the existence of stringent laws and clear directives issued by the Supreme Court to prevent mob lynching. He lamented the growing impunity with which self-styled cow vigilante groups continue to operate, often enjoying tacit support and protection.
He called upon both the central and state governments to take unequivocal and public stands against such acts of mob violence. “No group or individual has the right to take the law into their own hands. The rule of law must prevail, and Supreme Court guidelines must be implemented in letter and spirit,” he asserted.
Maulana Madani demanded a thorough, impartial, and time-bound investigation into the incident. He urged authorities to ensure the immediate arrest of all perpetrators and prosecute them under relevant anti-mob lynching and criminal provisions. He further appealed for full medical care, security, and appropriate compensation for the victims.
In response to the incident, a delegation from Jamiat Ulama Aligarh, led by its President Mufti Akbar Qasmi, visited the injured victims at JNMC Hospital and extended full solidarity and support to their families. A detailed report on the situation was submitted to the General Secretary of Jamiat Ulama-i-Hind, Maulana Hakimuddin Qasmi. The report affirmed that the victims are licensed meat traders and were in possession of meat from non-prohibited animals, supported by valid documentation. Nevertheless, the attackers disregarded all explanations and proceeded with violence.

नई दिल्ली, 25 मई: जमीयत उलेमा-ए-हिंद के अध्यक्ष मौलाना महमूद असअद मदनी ने अलीगढ़ में चार मुस्लिम व्यापारियों पर भीड़ द्वारा किए गए बर्बर हमले को अमानवीय और देश के लिए शर्मनाक बताया है। उन्होंने कहा कि गोमांस के शक में मुस्लिम युवकों को पीटना शांति और कानून व्यवस्था के लिए एक गंभीर खतरे का संकेत है। इस तरह की घटनाएं लगातार हो रही हैं, लोगों की जानें जा रही हैं, लेकिन सख्त कानून और उच्चतम न्यायालय के निर्देशों के बावजूद गौरक्षक समूह बेखौफ होकर लोगों की जान के पीछे पड़े हैं और उन्हें समर्थन भी मिल रहा है।
मौलाना मदनी ने कहा कि सरकारों को स्पष्ट रूप से घोषणा करनी चाहिए कि इस तरह की हरकत किसी भी सूरत में बर्दाश्त नहीं की जाएगी, और देश में कानून के दायरे से बाहर कोई भी समूह इस तरह का तथाकथित इंसाफ करने का हकदार नहीं है। साथ ही सुप्रीम कोर्ट के निर्देशों को अमल में लाया जाना चाहिए।
उन्होंने सरकार से मांग की कि इस पूरे मामले की निष्पक्ष, त्वरित और प्रभावी जांच की जाए। सभी हमलावरों को तुरंत गिरफ्तार कर उनके खिलाफ माब लिंचिंग रोधी कानून और अन्य कड़े धाराओं के तहत कार्रवाई की जाए। घायलों के समुचित इलाज, सुरक्षा और मुआवजे का इंतज़ाम किया जाए।
यह उल्लेखनीय है कि घटना की जानकारी मिलते ही जमीयत उलेमा शहर अलीगढ़ के अध्यक्ष मुफ्ती अकबर क़ासमी की अगुवाई में एक प्रतिनिधिमंडल जेएनएमसी अस्पताल पहुंचा और घायलों के परिजनों से मुलाकात कर उन्हें हर संभव सहयोग का आश्वासन दिया। इस सिलसिले में जमीयत उलेमा-ए-हिंद के महासचिव मौलाना हकीमुद्दीन क़ासमी को अलीगढ़ इकाई ने एक रिपोर्ट भेजी है, जिसमें कहा गया है कि जमीयत के प्रतिनिधि लगातार प्रशासनिक अधिकारियों से संपर्क में हैं ताकि सभी अपराधियों की गिरफ्तारी सुनिश्चित हो सके। रिपोर्ट में बताया गया है कि पीड़ित मांस के व्यापारी हैं, उनके पास गैर-प्रतिबंधित जानवर का मांस था, जिसकी रसीद भी मौजूद थी, इसके बावजूद दंगाइयों ने कुछ नहीं सुना।
