Three Muslims Acquitted in Delhi Riots Case

New Delhi, 14 August 2025: In an very important verdict, the Karkardooma Court, Delhi, today acquitted three innocent citizens—Irshad, Aqeel alias Papad, and Rais Khan—of all charges of looting, arson, and property damage in Case No. 78/20 registered at Dayalpur Police Station. The case was one of many filed during the 2020 Delhi riots, where innocent people were falsely implicated based on suspicion and bias.
Advocate Saleem Malik, representing Irshad on behalf of Jamiat Ulama-i-Hind, presented strong arguments and evidence in court, demonstrating that the charges were baseless and most of the evidence was misleading.
Under the leadership of Maulana Mahmood Asad Madani, President Jamiat Ulama-i-Hind has been relentlessly pursuing justice for riot victims over the past five years. Immediately after the 2020 riots, Jamiat provided support to affected families on two fronts:
• Relief and Rehabilitation: 166 houses were constructed, and 11 mosques along with 274 shops were repaired. Financial aid and livelihood support were provided
• Legal Support: Jamiat Ulama-i-Hind continues to handle 264 riot-related cases. So far, 586 bails have been secured, and 85 innocent citizens have been honourably acquitted.
Commenting on the verdict, Maulana Mahmood Madani said, “This proves that patience, perseverance, and legal efforts lead to justice. We commend the dedication of our lawyers and congratulate the families on this momentous relief.”

नई दिल्ली, 14 अगस्त 2025: दिल्ली की करकरदोमा कोर्ट के माननीय अतिरिक्त सत्र न्यायाधीश जस्टिस प्रवीण सिंह ने थाना दयालपुर में दर्ज केस संख्या 78/20 में तीन निर्दोष नागरिकों—इरशाद, अकील उर्फ़ पापड़ और रईस खान—को लूटमार, आगजनी और संपत्ति को नुकसान पहुँचाने के सभी आरोपों से बरी कर दिया। यह मामला दिल्ली दंगों के दौरान दर्ज दर्जनों मामलों में से एक था, जिनमें निर्दोष नागरिकों को केवल संदेह और पक्षपात के आधार पर फंसा दिया गया था।
इस मामले में जमीयत उलमा-ए-हिंद की ओर से एडवोकेट सलीम मलिक ने इरशाद की ओर से पेश होकर अदालत में ठोस तर्क, सबूत की मदद से साबित किया कि आरोप निराधार हैं और अधिकांश सबूत संदिग्ध या भ्रामक मंशा से पेश किए गए थे।
जमीयत उलमा-ए-हिंद के अध्यक्ष मौलाना महमूद मदनी के नेतृत्व में पिछले पांच वर्षों से लीगल टीम धैर्य और स्थिरता के साथ इन निर्दोष नागरिकों के मामलों की पैरवी कर रही है। 2020 में दिल्ली दंगों के तुरंत बाद जमीयत ने प्रभावित परिवारों को दो मोर्चों पर सहायता प्रदान की:
1. राहत और पुनर्वास: प्रभावित परिवारों को वित्तीय सहायता, आवास और रोजगार की बहाली में मदद दी गई। इसके तहत 166 मकान बनाए गए, 11 मस्जिदों और 274 दुकानों की मरम्मत करवाई। इस कार्य की निगरानी मौलाना मुहम्मद हकीमुद्दीन कासमी, महासचिव जमीयत उलमा-ए-हिंद ने की।
2. कानूनी संघर्ष: मामलों की पैरवी, जमानत और निर्दोष नागरिकों की रिहाई के लिए लगातार प्रयास जारी हैं। वर्तमान में जमीयत उलमा-ए-हिंद 264 मामलों में पैरवी कर रही है। अब तक 586 जमानतें प्राप्त हो चुकी हैं और 85 निर्दोष नागरिक अदालतों से बरी हो चुके हैं। इस कार्य की निगरानी मौलाना नियाज अहमद फारूकी, सचिव जमीयत उलमा-ए-हिंद कर रहे हैं।
फैसले पर प्रतिक्रिया देते हुए मौलाना महमूद असद मदनी ने कहा, "यह सफलता साबित करती है कि यदि धैर्य, स्थिरता और कानूनी दायरे में रहकर संघर्ष किया जाए, तो न्याय अवश्य मिलता है। हम वकीलों की मेहनत की सराहना करते हैं और परिवारों को मुबारकबाद देते हैं।"
